As you’ll probably have noticed I’ve been making some changes to the membership recently and also in the process of upgrading the website, things seem to have gone pretty smoothly and there have been no issues.
So far I’ve changed the theme design and made some tweaks to site performance so that the membership runs even better than before. Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions you may have regarding the changes and I hope you all like the new look of the site.
I’ve also been busy implementing some changes on a couple of sites following the Google Farmer/Panda changes that have been causing a lot of controversy recently.
Most of my sites seem to be doing well with their search rankings and haven’t been hit except for one that took a dive a little while ago.
Rather than just leave it I thought it was due for a bit of a makeover anyway so after taking a good look at the site structure, content, links, and a few other factors a put a list together of changes to be made in a bid to improve user experience to be more in line with what appears to be required now.
Anyway I made the changes and then waited to see what happened and after a couple of weeks the site’s rankings have improved vastly and it seems to be back on track again.
That was a few weeks ago now and the site seems to be fine even though there appear to have been further ongoing Google changes since.
I’m in the process of updating our content to reflect what seems to be current “best practice” and will also have a new guide available sometime over the next couple of weeks that will be filled with what is working for me at the moment in 2011 and not what was working 1-2 years ago as with some products I’ve seen.
So stay tuned and I’ll let all my subscribers and members know as soon as it’s ready and there will also be another nice surprise that you might find really useful as well 😉
Let me know via the comments how you’ve found the recent Google changes and if your sites have been effected. Are they doing better or worse and what sort of changes you’ve made?
